Mission Vision
Word Church carries on a missions ministry of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Mangyan people of Mindoro Island, Philippines. Once a year, a mission team travels to the field to share the gospel and to serve the people in many practical ways — through education, medical care, and daily-life support.
Our whole church prays and gives together, longing to see the seed of the gospel planted among the Mangyan people in their rugged mountain home, and to watch that seed grow as the kingdom of God expands.
Every year, Word Church sends a short-term mission team to the Mangyan people of Mindoro Island, Philippines.

Raising the next generation in the lowest and most overlooked places — Mount Halcon, Philippines
Answering God's call, she has faithfully carried the gospel since 2007 to the Mangyan people living on Mount Halcon on Mindoro Island, Philippines. To date she has built more than four churches for the indigenous community, steadily establishing firm spiritual homes for God's people.
In particular, she provides transportation fare and lunch money for some 120 Mangyan students whose families have lived in the mountains for generations amid poverty and social marginalization, opening the door to education while sharing the gospel with them. Sharing her whole life with these children, she pours all her strength into raising them to grow up soundly in the gospel and to stand as the future workers who will carry the kingdom of God forward.
Mindoro, Philippines · Mission to the Mangyan People
For some twenty years, Missionary Kim Se-kwon has lived alongside the Mangyan people, sharing their joys and sorrows and faithfully carrying out his ministry in the midst of their daily lives. He devotes himself to training and nurturing Mangyan students as children of faith, and, using the gift of building that God has given him, he leads the way in raising churches, dormitories, and homes for the indigenous community — the very facilities the mission field needs most.
Each building raised by his hands, and each student trained and growing up in the dormitories, becomes a firm pillar of the mission field and a seed of the gospel — a channel through which the kingdom of God is beautifully expanding among the Mangyan community.
